How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CAD Engineer – Land Survey

    Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester
    Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
    Job Type: Permanent
    Working Pattern: Hybrid – initial office-based training/induction period, followed by hybrid working

    CAD Engineer – Land Survey | Wigan | Hybrid

    Our client is a well-established and growing surveying and engineering company based in Wigan, delivering high-quality surveying and engineering solutions to clients across the UK.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced CAD Engineer with a background in producing technical drawings from survey data.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional looking to develop their career within the surveying and engineering sector. The role will initially be office-based in Wigan to allow for training, familiarisation and integration with the team, before moving to a hybrid working arrangement.

    The Role

    As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings from a variety of survey data. You will work closely with surveyors, engineers and project managers to ensure drawings are produced accurately, efficiently and to the required standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings from survey data

    * Produce drawings from topographical, measured building and utility surveys

    * Interpret and process survey information accurately

    * Work closely with surveyors and project managers

    * Amend and update technical drawings as required

    * Ensure drawings meet project requirements and industry standards

    * Manage workload and deliver projects within agreed timescales

    * Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    * Strong AutoCAD skills

    * Previous experience working with survey data

    * Experience producing technical drawings within a surveying, engineering or construction environment

    * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

    * Good organisational and time-management skills

    * Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team

    * Good communication skills

    Desirable Experience

    The following experience would be highly advantageous:

    * Point cloud data and point cloud drawing production

    * Experience with laser scanning

    * Experience producing drawings from laser scan / point cloud survey data

    * Civil 3D experience

    * 3D modelling

    * Background in land surveying, measured building surveying or civil engineering

    * Knowledge of relevant UK surveying and engineering standards
