Qualified Nursery Practitioner – Duties
* Provide high-quality care for children in line with statutory requirements, Ofsted guidance and the nursery's policies and procedures.
* Take on a key person role for designated children, building positive and trusting relationships with them and their families.
* Plan and provide engaging, age-appropriate activities and experiences that support children's learning and development.
* Complete regular observations and maintain accurate progress and development records.
* Support children's individual needs, interests and development, helping them to make progress and reach their potential.
* Build positive relationships with parents and carers, listening to and responding appropriately to any concerns or queries.
* Maintain awareness of staffing requirements and ensure appropriate deployment of staff in line with Ofsted ratios.
* Carry out appropriate risk assessments and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
* Administer medication in accordance with the nursery's medication policy and procedures.
* Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic environment for children and staff.
* Ensure children are appropriately supervised at all times and that staff are deployed safely across the nursery.
* Provide positive, high-quality interactions with children and actively engage them in learning and play.
* Support other practitioners, students and members of the wider nursery team where required.
* Maintain equipment and resources to a high standard.
* Follow all nursery policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Contribute to and uphold the nursery's ethos and approach to childcare.
* Attend staff meetings and required training, including opportunities for continued professional development.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Manager.
