How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Pay: Up to £240 per day (dependent on experience)

Aspire People is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Rochdale to recruit an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will primarily teach within a specialist provision for learners with complex autism and speech, language and communication needs, although flexibility to work across other pathways within the school may be required. The provision supports pupils with an informal curriculum model, focusing heavily on communication, social interaction, independence and life skills through highly personalised learning approaches. ECTs are welcome to apply.

This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about SEND and has the skills and resilience required to support pupils with significant communication difficulties and complex behavioural needs associated with autism.

You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing learning that meets the individual needs of pupils with autism and complex SEND. Many learners require structured routines, specialist communication approaches and a highly personalised curriculum to enable them to engage successfully in education.

The role requires a calm, adaptable and nurturing professional who can build strong relationships while maintaining high expectations for every learner.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with autism and complex needs
    - Support pupils with significant communication and interaction difficulties
    - Develop learning around communication, independence and life skills
    - Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP outcomes
    - Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and families
    - Use positive behaviour support strategies to manage dysregulation and behaviours associated with autism
    - Monitor progress and maintain accurate records
    - Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment

    The successful candidate will:

    - Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    - Have experience teaching pupils with autism and complex SEND
    - Be confident supporting learners with severe autism, including behaviours linked to communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs
    - Have strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
    - Be adaptable and willing to work across different specialist provisions where required
    - Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning

    Desirable Experience

    - SEN school experience
    - Autism specialist provision experience
    - Knowledge of alternative communication methods
    - Experience working with EHCP-led curricula
    - Understanding of informal and personalised curriculum models

    What Aspire People Offers

    - Competitive rates of pay up to £240 per day
    - Full-time opportunity within a highly respected SEN setting
    - Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
    - Opportunity to develop specialist SEND experience
    - Potential for long-term career progression

If you are an experienced SEN Teacher with a strong understanding of autism and complex needs, and are looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity in Rochdale, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and a member of the Aspire People team will be in touch to discuss the role further.
