How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Repairs Planner

    Location: Croydon
    Contract: Temporary to Permanent
    Pay Rate: £17.00 per hour
    Working Arrangement: Office Based
    Sector: Social Housing / Property Services

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Planner to join a busy Property Services team based in Croydon.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating repairs and maintenance appointments, ensuring jobs are allocated efficiently and completed within the required timescales. You will work closely with residents, operatives, contractors and internal teams to provide a smooth and efficient repairs service.

    This is an office-based temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and schedule repairs and maintenance appointments for operatives and contractors.

    Allocate jobs based on priority, location, skill set and availability.

    Manage and update the repairs system with accurate job and appointment information.

    Liaise with residents to arrange and confirm repair appointments.

    Communicate with operatives and contractors throughout the day to ensure jobs are progressing as planned.

    Monitor outstanding and overdue repairs and take appropriate action.

    Reschedule appointments where required and minimise missed appointments.

    Ensure emergency, urgent and routine repairs are prioritised appropriately.

    Deal with queries from residents, operatives and internal departments.

    Maintain accurate records and provide updates on outstanding works.

    Support the wider repairs and property services team with general administration.

    Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant policies, procedures and service standards.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Previous experience working as a Repairs Planner, Scheduler, Repairs Coordinator or similar role.

    Experience within social housing, housing repairs or property maintenance is highly desirable.

    Strong organisational and time-management skills.

    Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing demands.

    Good attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.

    Experience using repairs management systems is desirable.

    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.

    The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.

    A proactive approach with the confidence to chase and resolve outstanding issues.
