How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Area Manager | Multi-Site Food & Retail

    Are you an experienced Area Manager, Regional Manager or Multi-Site Operations Manager who knows how to lead people, drive sales and turn good sites into great ones?

    We’re looking for an ambitious, energetic and commercially minded Area Manager to take ownership of multiple busy food retail locations.

    This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll have genuine responsibility for the performance, people, customer experience and commercial success of your area.

    You won’t be stuck behind a desk. You’ll be out in your stores, working alongside your managers, coaching your teams, solving problems, driving standards and making things happen.

    Area Manager The Role

    As Area Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the performance of your stores.

    You’ll work closely with Store Managers, helping them become stronger, more confident and more commercially focused leaders while ensuring every location delivers exceptional standards.

    Your days will be varied. One day you could be reviewing a store's P&L and putting an action plan together; the next you could be coaching a Store Manager, tackling a staffing issue, improving customer experience or working with a team to increase sales.

    Area Manager - You'll be visible, hands-on and accountable.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Operations & Commercial Performance

    * Take ownership of the day-to-day performance of multiple sites.

    * Spend significant time across your stores, ensuring consistent standards in food quality, customer service, cleanliness and presentation.

    * Coach Store Managers to improve sales, profitability and operational performance & Monitor P&L performance, budgets, costs and key financial KPIs.

    * Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve margins.

    * Analyse sales performance and trends to identify opportunities for growth.

    * Ensure stock is accurately managed across all locations, minimising waste and unnecessary costs.

    * Ensure every site is well maintained, professionally presented and operating to the required standards.

    * Take ownership of operational problems and ensure they are resolved quickly & Coordinate staffing between locations where required to keep stores fully operational.

    Area Manager Leadership & People

    Great Area Managers create great managers — and that's a major part of this role.

    Area Manager You will:

    * Coach, mentor and develop Store Managers to become confident and independent leaders & Set clear expectations and hold managers accountable for performance.

    * Conduct regular performance reviews and establish clear development plans & Lead by example in customer service, communication, standards and leadership & Run regular weekly and monthly management meetings.

    * Support managers with HR and employee-related matters & Lead or support investigations, performance management and mediation where required.

    * Identify future talent and support internal development and succession planning & Build a positive, accountable and high-performing culture across your area.

    Sales & Customer Experience

    * Drive sales and customer satisfaction across your stores & Ensure every location delivers a consistently excellent customer experience.

    * Coach teams to develop a genuine customer-first mindset.

    * Analyse customer feedback and take action to improve the experience.

    * Deal confidently with escalated customer complaints & Identify opportunities to grow sales through seasonal activity, promotions and local events.

    * Work with marketing teams to maximise local visibility and customer engagement.

    * Ensure every store provides a welcoming, professional and consistent experience.

    Food Safety, Health & Compliance

    * Ensure all sites consistently meet food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements.

    * Carry out regular site visits and operational audits.

    * Ensure Store Managers and their teams understand and follow company procedures.

    * Identify gaps in compliance and implement corrective action.

    * Maintain consistently high standards across food safety, cleanliness, presentation and operational compliance.

    Area Manager About You

    We’re looking for someone who loves leading people, understands the numbers and enjoys being at the heart of the operation.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * 3–5+ years' experience within retail, hospitality, food service, FMCG or a similar environment.

    * At least 2 years' experience managing multiple sites or teams.

    * Proven experience managing, coaching and developing Store Managers or equivalent & Strong commercial awareness with experience managing P&L, budgets, sales and KPIs.

    * A track record of improving site performance, sales and profitability.

    * Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.

    * Strong organisational and analytical skills.

    * The confidence to challenge performance and hold people accountable.

    You don't necessarily need a degree — we're more interested in what you've achieved and how you lead than what's written on your CV.
