A Local Authority is looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner / Senior Social Worker to join its specialist Court Team within Children’s Safeguarding.
This is a specialist statutory role for an experienced social worker with a strong background in children’s social care, safeguarding and care proceedings. You will manage a focused caseload of complex cases where court intervention is required to secure safe and permanent outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of complex children and families cases.

Undertake high-quality assessments and safeguarding work.

Prepare detailed court statements, reports and evidence.
*
Work effectively with legal professionals, families and partner agencies.
*
Attend court and provide professional evidence when required.
*
Analyse risk and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
*
Support positive and timely permanence outcomes for children.
*
Contribute to a supportive and experienced team environment.
About You
You will need:
*
A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW or equivalent).
*
Current Social Work England registration.
*
Significant statutory children’s social care experience.
*
Recent experience of care proceedings and court work.
*
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and child protection.
*
Experience producing high-quality court reports and assessments.
*
Excellent communication, organisation and professional judgement.
