Duties
* Provide patient care and assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and grooming.
* Offer dementia care support, ensuring a safe and comforting environment for individuals experiencing cognitive challenges.
* Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met according to dietary requirements.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor the health status of clients, reporting any changes to relevant professionals.
* Engage in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for clients.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations during shifts.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
Skills
* Strong background in patient care, with experience in senior care or hospice care preferred.
* Knowledge of dementia care principles and practices is highly advantageous.
* Ability to perform medication administration safely and effectively.
* Experience in home care settings or nursing homes is beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
