How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Architect with approximately 1–3 years' post-qualification experience to join an award-winning, multi-disciplinary design and planning consultancy renowned for delivering beautifully considered architecture across the rural, residential and leisure sectors.

Based from their stunning contemporary waterside studio in Skipton, and offering one of the most flexible hybrid working policies in the region, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Architect looking to continue developing their career within a genuinely design-led and supportive environment.

The practice has recently received industry recognition for the quality of its work and continues to build an enviable portfolio spanning bespoke country homes, high-quality residential developments, leisure destinations, visitor attractions, heritage projects and landscape-led masterplanning.

Many of their commissions are located within some of the UK's most picturesque settings, giving Architects the opportunity to work on projects that are creatively interesting, technically challenging and visually exceptional.

This opportunity would particularly suit a recently qualified or early-career Architect who has developed a good foundation of UK project experience and is now looking for an environment where they can broaden their technical knowledge, take on increasing project responsibility and continue developing into a well-rounded Architect.

You don't need to be the finished article. The practice is looking for somebody with the right technical foundations, enthusiasm and willingness to learn, who can develop alongside an experienced team.

    The Role

Working alongside experienced Architects, Architectural Technologists, Landscape Architects and Planning Consultants, you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.

You'll be given the opportunity to build experience across different RIBA stages, gradually taking greater ownership of projects and packages as your experience develops.

The role would particularly suit an Architect who enjoys the technical and delivery side of architecture, while still wanting to work within a practice where design quality remains at the heart of every project.

    Key Responsibilities

Support the design and delivery of projects across a range of RIBA work stages.

Develop detailed architectural drawings, technical packages and construction information.

Assist with the coordination of architectural information with consultants and the wider design team.

Develop your understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing and technical standards.

Attend and contribute to client, consultant and project coordination meetings.

Assist with planning, technical design and project delivery through to completion.

Work closely with experienced colleagues to resolve design and technical challenges.

Maintain a high standard of design quality throughout the technical delivery process.

Take on increasing levels of project responsibility as your experience and confidence develop.

Contribute positively to a friendly and highly collaborative multidisciplinary studio.

    About You

Qualified Architect with approximately 1–3 years' post-qualification experience.

ARB registered or eligible for registration.

Previous experience working on projects within a UK architectural practice.

A good foundation of technical design and construction knowledge.

Developing knowledge of UK Building Regulations and current industry standards.

    Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Exposure to projects across multiple RIBA stages would be advantageous.

Good communication, coordination and organisational skills.

A proactive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing.

Passion for high-quality architecture and thoughtful, considered design.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who wants to progress. The practice can provide the support, project exposure and experienced colleagues to help you build on your post-qualification experience and develop towards becoming a confident, independently capable Project Architect.

    Salary & Benefits

    £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience

    Discretionary Bonus Scheme

Private Medical Insurance including Dental & Optical

    Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

    Wellness Allowance

    Birthday Off

    Additional Christmas Holiday Allowance

    Cycle to Work Scheme

    Ongoing Professional Development

Excellent Hybrid Working Policy – 3 days in the studio / 2 days from home

    Modern waterside studio in Skipton

Collaborative, supportive and award-winning design environment

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Architect who wants to build on their first few years following qualification within a practice where they will be properly supported, exposed to high-quality projects and given increasing responsibility as they develop.
