How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A hire claim lands on your desk. The third party says the car was off the road for 41 days and the hire company wants £9,000. Your job is to work out whether that's right.

You check who was at fault. You look at the repair dates and ask why the hire carried on after the car was fixed. You compare the daily rate with what the market actually charges. Then you ring the accident management company and tell them what you'll pay and why.

That's third party and credit hire handling here. It sits with a well-established, FCA-regulated general insurer on the edge of Egerton, Bolton (BL7).

    What you'll handle

    * Third party vehicle and property damage claims, from first notification to settlement

    * Liability investigations: gathering the evidence and making the call

    * Credit hire validation: hire periods, rates and need, challenged where they don't stack up

    * Solicitors, insurers and accident management companies, by phone and in writing

    * Fraud indicators, which you spot and escalate

    Who fits

    * You've done motor claims already, whether that's TPPD, credit hire, FNOL or accidental damage

    * Personal injury and RTA handlers count too. You already argue liability and deal with solicitors every day

    * You can hold your position on the phone when someone pushes back

    * GCSE English and Maths at C/4 or above

    The pay and the deal

    * £24,479 to £28,000 for developing handlers, rising to £35,000 for experienced third party or credit hire handlers

    * 35 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. No weekends

    * Hybrid working once you've passed probation

    * Fully funded CII, plus one-to-one coaching from an in-house motor claims trainer

    * Holiday that grows with service, your birthday off, and a half-day for seasonal shopping

    * Contributory pension, cash bonus scheme and free on-site parking

You'll need to drive. Public transport doesn't really reach the site.

Send your CV and we'll call you to talk it through before anything goes to the employer
