How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Team Leader - Fabrication

    Location: Corby

    Salary: £16.50 per hour (£33,462 per annum)

    Our client, a global leader in innovative material handling solutions, is seeking an experienced Fabrication Team Leader to join their high‑paced production operation in Corby. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment and enjoys driving quality, safety, and performance across a busy fabrication department.

    The Role

    As Fabrication Team Leader, you will oversee daily production processes involved in the manufacture of conveyor systems. You will lead by example on the shop floor, ensuring your team follows all Safe systems of work, operational and quality standards and QHSE requirements while delivering high‑quality products on time. You will be responsible for planning resources, monitoring production schedules, maintaining training compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across the department.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and champion all QHSE standards, ensuring safety inspections, housekeeping, and compliance are consistently maintained.
    Ensure all products are manufactured and stored to the highest quality standards, following engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
    Act as a hands‑on operator, able to carry out all fabrication processes and support cross‑functional training.
    Plan daily resources effectively to meet production targets
    Maintain accurate documentation, including conformance checks and SOP compliance.
    Support the creation and upkeep of training plans, ensuring operatives are trained across multiple processes and complete bi‑annual refreshers.
    Communicate KPIs clearly to your team, coaching and developing individuals to improve performance.
    Assist with recruitment and training of new employees.
    Encourage a positive safety culture, including near‑miss reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Experience & Background

    To be considered for this role, applicants are required to have relevant experience broken down into two categories being essential and desirable

    Essential

    Must be a qualified welder with leadership / supervisory experience
    Ability to read engineering drawings and GA layouts
    Understanding of BOMs (Bills of Materials)
    Strong mechanical assembly skills, torque settings, fastening methods
    Quality inspection and dimensional checking experience
    Background in high‑paced manufacturingDesired:

    Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience (team of 5+)
    IOSH Working Safely
    LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt
    NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Manufacturing
    FLT and Crane Licences
