How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager | Stoke-on-Trent

    £40,000-£45,000 DOE + bonus + car allowance + benefits

Open doors. Win customers. Make your mark on the next stage of growth.

You know how to spot an opportunity, get in front of the right people and turn a first conversation into a profitable commercial relationship. Now you want the freedom to put that ability to work.

We're partnering with an established and growing consumer products business to recruit a Business Development Manager who will help shape where the business goes next.

With an extensive product range and customers across UK and international markets, the business has a strong platform to build from. The opportunity is to identify new customers, explore new routes to market and turn that potential into sales.

Why this role deserves your attention

    · Ownership of your pipeline. You'll have the freedom to identify opportunities and decide where to focus your efforts.

    · A clear focus on winning new business. Established accounts move into account management, giving you the space to pursue your next opportunity.

    · An extensive range to take to market. You'll have products around which to build relevant, commercially compelling proposals.

    · Visible impact. The customers you win and markets you open will directly contribute to the business's next stage of growth.

    · A package that includes bonus and car allowance, alongside a £40,000-£45,000 basic salary and wider benefits.

    · Opportunities to get out into the market, meeting customers and attending trade shows and industry events in the UK and internationally.

    What you'll be doing

As Business Development Manager, you'll own the new business journey, from identifying a prospect through to securing the first order and establishing a trading relationship.

    You'll:

    · Identify and target new customers, sectors and routes to market.

    · Build your own pipeline, prioritising opportunities with strong commercial potential.

    · Secure meetings with buyers and senior decision-makers.

    · Understand each customer's needs and build a proposition that gives them a reason to buy.

    · Lead presentations, negotiate terms and close profitable new business.

    · Maintain clear forecasts and momentum across your opportunities.

    · Represent the business at customer meetings, trade shows and industry events.

Once an account is established, you'll hand it over to the account management team and focus on the next win.

    What you'll bring

You might already be a Business Development Manager, or you could be in another B2B sales role with a strong record of winning new customers. What matters is your ability to demonstrate the opportunities you created, the deals you secured and how you made them happen.

You enjoy opening doors and building relationships from scratch. You're curious enough to ask good questions, commercially aware enough to protect margin and confident enough to ask for the business.

    You'll bring:

    · A proven track record of personally winning new B2B customers.

    · Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills.

    · Confidence engaging buyers and senior decision-makers.

    · A sound understanding of pricing, margin and profitable growth.

    · The organisation to manage a pipeline and forecast effectively.

    · Resilience, initiative and the drive to keep improving.

    The opportunity

This Business Development Manager opportunity combines the backing of an established business with the scope to develop new customers and routes to market.

If you enjoy deciding who to target, building the approach and seeing your work turn into orders, there's plenty here to get your teeth into.

Location: Stoke-on-Trent. Predominantly office based, alongside customer meetings, trade shows and UK and international travel as required.

Package: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience, plus bonus, car allowance and wider benefits.

Ready to bring your next big customer win to a business where it will make a difference?

Apply for the Business Development Manager role today, or contact Zachary Daniels for a confidential conversation.
