How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Recruitment Manager

Location: Thurrock initially, office moving to Gravesend in 2027
Working pattern: 4 days office-based, 1 day WFH (1 office day a week in Hertfordshire)

Think Specialist Recruitment are supporting a global business with the recruitment of an experienced Project Recruitment Manager.

This is a great opportunity for a recruiter who knows how to find and attract strong candidates across construction, engineering, infrastructure or other technical/project-led environments, and who enjoys being close to the action rather than working purely from behind a desk.

You'll be the key recruitment contact for the project, working closely with hiring managers and wider HR teams to understand workforce requirements, build effective talent pipelines and deliver quality hires across a range of roles and levels.

    What will you be doing?

Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from identifying requirements through to offer and onboarding.
Working closely with hiring managers to understand current and future recruitment needs and translate these into effective hiring plans.
Sourcing candidates through your own networks, LinkedIn, job boards and other relevant channels.
Building talent pipelines for both immediate and future project requirements.
Advising and supporting hiring managers on recruitment best practice, selection and assessment.
Managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring recruitment activity stays on track.
Using recruitment data and metrics to monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve.
Supporting a positive and inclusive candidate experience throughout the process.
Working collaboratively with the wider recruitment and HR teams based in Hertfordshire. What are we looking for?

We're looking for a strong, hands-on recruiter who can operate confidently in a busy project environment.

You'll ideally have experience recruiting within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities or another technical/industrial sector, with a proven ability to source candidates who aren't always easy to find.

    You'll also need:

Experience in either agency or internal recruitment - ideally both.
    Strong sourcing and networking skills.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge and advise hiring managers.
Experience managing multiple vacancies and priorities at once.
A good understanding of recruitment processes, employment legislation and inclusive hiring.
The ability to use recruitment data and metrics to drive performance.
Strong communication skills and a practical, can-do approach. The important bit...

This is a predominantly office-based role, with 4 days per week initially based in Thurrock, before the project moves to a Kent-based office in 2027.

You'll also spend one day a week in Hertfordshire working alongside the wider recruitment team.

For that reason, we're specifically looking for someone already based in Kent or within a realistic commute of the future Kent office, who is comfortable with the initial Thurrock commute.

If you're a recruiter who enjoys working on challenging roles, building relationships with hiring managers and getting stuck into a major infrastructure programme, we'd love to hear from you.
