How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a specialist engineering business delivering Process, Plant & Equipment solutions into the Nuclear industry. You'll take ownership of business development activities, identifying and developing new opportunities, building relationships with key clients and supporting opportunities from initial engagement and capture planning through to formal tender submission.

This position would suit an established Business Development Manager with a proven track record of winning new business within complex engineering or highly regulated environments. It will appeal to someone who enjoys being client-facing, developing strategic relationships and identifying opportunities, while also having the commercial discipline to manage pipelines, market intelligence and opportunities through a structured sales process.

    Key Responsibilities
    * Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities, taking ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through capture planning and into formal tendering
    * Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, creating account and opportunity plans aligned with strategic growth objectives
    * Work closely with technical, commercial and tendering teams to develop compelling proposals and solutions that address client requirements
    * Analyse market, client and competitor intelligence, procurement plans and customer portals to identify opportunities and support sales forecasting and strategic decision-making
    * Represent the business at client meetings, presentations, exhibitions and industry events while maintaining an accurate opportunity pipeline through Salesforce CRM

In return you'll receive a salary up to £70k + Car Allowance, 26 days holiday + bank holidays, Private Healthcare, 8% pension contributions from the client, amongst other benefits.

So if you're looking for a Business Development role where you can take genuine ownership of new opportunities and develop long-term relationships across complex engineering markets, get in touch today with Mark Dorey on (url removed), or call on (phone number removed)
