How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    adi Automation Control Systems Engineer
    Location – Wirral, Liverpool

    About the Role

    As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing control systems for automated processes. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable and effective automation solutions.

    Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

    • Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and, where necessary, preparing engineering solutions and costed proposals.
    • Designing, developing and programming PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems to meet customer specifications.
    • Developing PLC control software using Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and/or Siemens platforms.
    • Designing and implementing HMI and SCADA systems.
    • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards.
    • Working closely with electrical design, process safety and control software engineers to deliver turnkey automation projects.
    • Supporting testing and commissioning activities and resolving control system issues.
    • Working across sectors including food, beverage, chemical, marine and materials handling.

    About you

    We would like to hear from you if you have:

    • Previous experience as a Control Systems Engineer within an industrial automation environment.
    • Experience designing and programming PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
    • Experience with Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and/or Siemens PLC platforms.
    • A good understanding of industrial automation and control systems.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • A proactive approach and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
