How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a primary school in the Chesterfield area to recruit an experienced and dedicated SEND Teacher to join their enhanced SEND resource from January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate SEND teacher to work within a specialist provision supporting pupils with significant and complex special educational needs. The provision predominantly supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom have an EHCP and are on a pathway towards specialist school placement.

    The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a highly personalised and engaging curriculum tailored to the individual needs and abilities of the pupils.

The provision currently supports approximately 5 pupils each day, with up to a further 5 pupils accessing the resource at different points throughout the day. You will work alongside a strong support team, with 2-3 Teaching Assistants available at any one time.

The role will involve shared planning responsibilities and working closely with colleagues to ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality support and education.

Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons for pupils with significant SEND.
Deliver a bespoke curriculum based around the Equals Curriculum Scheme.
Focus on developing pupils' communication, cognition, independence and life skills.
Adapt teaching and learning to meet a wide range of individual needs and abilities.

Develop strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Work as part of a team to support pupils who may be transitioning towards specialist school provision.

    About the Pupils

The provision predominantly supports KS1 pupils, although some EYFS pupils also access the resource at various times.

Pupils have significant SEND needs, with the majority having an ASD diagnosis and an EHCP. Some pupils also present with SEMH needs.

The pupils are generally working significantly below age-related expectations and may be working several years below their chronological age. Learning is therefore focused heavily on functional skills, communication, independence, life skills and basic cognitive development.

Staffing is strong, with a minimum ratio of approximately 1:3, reducing to 1:2 at times depending on pupil needs.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience teaching pupils with significant SEND.
