How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Croydon

    Location: Croydon, CR0 - commutable from South Croydon, Thornton Heath, Purley and surrounding areas
    Pay: £110-£125 per day
    Start Date: ASAP
    Hours: Full-time
    Contract: Long-term temporary with potential to become permanent

    Long Term Futures is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Croydon, CR0 on a full-time, long-term basis.

    You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, providing 1:1, small-group and classroom-based support. The focus will be on helping pupils access learning, develop their communication and independence, and feel confident and regulated throughout the school day.

    We're looking for someone who is patient, proactive and able to adapt their approach depending on the individual needs of each pupil.

    About the Role

    Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support

    Support pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language difficulties

    Adapt activities and resources to individual learning needs

    Work towards targets outlined within pupils' EHCPs

    Deliver targeted SEND interventions

    Support communication, social interaction and independence

    Help pupils manage sensory and emotional regulation

    Use positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies where appropriate

    Support structured routines and transitions

    Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

    Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEND

    Confident providing individual 1:1 support

    Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs

    Calm and consistent when supporting pupils with dysregulated or challenging behaviour

    Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, SALT strategies or visual supports would be beneficial

    Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries

    Patient, resilient and adaptable

    Available for a full-time, long-term position
