How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our NHS Maintenance team at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. 

    Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group and is successfully providing hard FM (facilities management services) to a variety of clients, predominantly within the healthcare sector. We provide hard FM services across England for a growing number of NHS Trusts. We look after more than 250 buildings on behalf of 20 NHS Trusts on a planned, responsive repairs and small works projects basis. We provide maintenance services to hospitals, primary care, ambulance and mental health trusts. Using the latest technology we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose.

    Job Purpose

    We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our NHS Maintenance team at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. This team which delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with this large Acute NHS Trust.

    This is a mobile position where you will be working as part of a highly skilled maintenance team (consisting of mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled maintenance operatives). You will be working across multiple primary health care clinics/centres in and around Sidcup, Bromley, Bexley, Erith and Abbey Wood. 

    This team are responsible for ensuring that jobs completed meet the desired quality and customer service standards. You will be responsible for planned, preventative and responsive maintenance to ensure that this busy hospital environment is operational at all times.

    The types of work involve commercial electrical repairs, maintenance and installation. This could involve work with circuit breakers, controls, fuses, lights, motors and more. You will also be involved with completing PPM's (planned preventative maintenance) such as emergency lighting testing and water temperature checks. 

    Normal working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You will also participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).

    Experience Required

    The successful candidate will have previous experience gained as a maintenance electrician. This experience will ideally have been gained in an NHS hospital environment, though candidates with strong commercial electrical experience will also be considered (ie experience gained in commercial offices, hotels, education etc). The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ or City and Guilds qualification Level 3 for electrical installations, 18th edition and 2391 or 2394 & 2395 for inspection & testing would be desirable.
