We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative/Technician to join one of our clients based in the Cradley Heath area.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine maintenance and setting, with the practical skills and experience needed to keep manufacturing equipment and site facilities operating reliably. You will play an important role in minimising downtime, supporting production requirements, and ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and support the day to day maintenance of machinery, equipment, and site facilities to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
Provide technical support to the Maintenance Team and deputise for the Team Lead when required.
Coordinate maintenance resources, including spare parts, stock, suppliers, contractors, and external service providers.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, working practices, productivity, and overall operational performance.
Assist with maintenance projects, new equipment installations, automation, robotics, and other business improvement initiatives.
Work closely with Operations and R&D to support the introduction of new technologies and improvements to manufacturing processes.
Maintain high standards of workplace health, safety, environmental compliance, and employee wellbeing, including supporting relevant inspections and statutory requirements.
Support the development of team members through coaching and training.
Help ensure workshops, yards, equipment, and other working areas remain safe, clean, and fit for purpose.
Take a proactive approach to identifying problems and implementing practical solutions and improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 in Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
At least 3 years' practical experience in a maintenance or engineering environment.
Practical experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with basic programming or automated systems.
