How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Type: Freelance / Temporary

    The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a prestigious new-build housing development for a well-established, quality-focused residential developer.

This is a short-term freelance opportunity running from Thursday 8th October until Friday 30th October, with the successful candidate concentrating primarily on plot snagging and preparing homes for CML stage.

The role would suit an Assistant Site Manager or experienced Site Manager with a strong background in new-build housing who is confident identifying defects, co-ordinating remedial works and ensuring plots are brought up to the required standard for inspection and handover.

    Key Responsibilities

Carry out detailed inspections of completed and near-completed plots.

Identify and record outstanding snagging and finishing issues.

Coordinate trades and subcontractors to ensure defects are rectified promptly.

Re-inspect plots following remedial works to confirm issues have been satisfactorily resolved.

Ensure homes are presented to a consistently high construction and finishing standard.

Work closely with the Site Manager to prioritise plots approaching CML stage.

Monitor progress against short-term completion and handover targets.

Assist with quality control across the development.

Maintain accurate records of outstanding works and completed snags.

Ensure health, safety and site procedures are maintained at all times.

Liaise effectively with trades, subcontractors and the wider site team.

Help ensure plots are ready for inspection within the required programme.

    About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager on new-build housing developments.

Strong knowledge of residential construction and finishing standards.

Proven experience undertaking plot inspections and snagging.

A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to identifying defects.

The confidence to manage trades and drive outstanding works through to completion.

Good knowledge of health and safety requirements on residential construction sites.

    Excellent communication and organisational skills.

A proactive approach, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Relevant CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous.

    The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional looking for a three-week freelance assignment with a respected developer, working on the final stages of a quality residential development.

    Start: Thursday 8th October 2026
    Finish: Friday 30th October 2026
