How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role
    As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

    Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
    Working with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and progress.
    Providing targeted support to pupils who require additional assistance.
    Helping to create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
    Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
    Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop independence.
    Preparing classroom resources and assisting with learning activities.
    Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
    Providing pastoral and practical support where required.
    Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
    Contributing positively to the wider school community.The Ideal Candidate Will Have
    We are looking for a qualified Teaching Assistant who has:

    A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
    Recent experience working within a UK primary school or education setting.
    A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    A patient, caring and child-centred approach.
    The ability to support pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
    Good behaviour management skills.
    The confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
    A proactive, reliable and adaptable approach.
    A strong understanding of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.About the School & Area

    Requirements
    Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent relevant qualification.
    Recent UK experience working with children in a school or education setting.
    Right to work in the UK.
    Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
    Two years of employment and/or education references.
    At least one professional reference relating to working with children.
