How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

Are you a Class 1 Driver looking for a position that offers more variety than a traditional driving role?

We're seeking a reliable and motivated HGV Class 1 Driver / Commercial Vehicle MOT Presenter to support a busy commercial vehicle workshop. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation of a workshop environment rather than spending all week on the road.

This role combines vehicle movements, MOT presentation, brake testing and workshop support, making it ideal for someone who wants a hands-on position with plenty of variety.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Present trucks and trailers for MOT testing

    *

Manage vehicle movements through the MOT lane to ensure an efficient workflow

    *

Carry out brake testing on commercial vehicles

    *

Collect and deliver trucks and trailers to local customers

    *

Load and unload vehicles when required

    *

Liaise with workshop staff and customers professionally

    *

Maintain high standards of health & safety and vehicle compliance

    *

Support the wider workshop operation as required

    What We're Looking For

    Essential Requirements

    *

Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV Licence

    *

Strong awareness of vehicle safety and road transport regulations

    *

    Reliable, professional and self-motivated approach

    *

Good communication skills and customer-facing experience

    *

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Desirable

    *

Previous experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop, transport operation or fleet environment

    *

Experience with vehicle testing, inspections or workshop processes

    What's on Offer

    *

Competitive hourly rate of £13.00 - £15.00 per hour

    *

    Overtime opportunities available

    *

28 days holiday including Bank Holidays

    *

    Company pension scheme

    *

    Uniform provided

    *

    Employee discount benefits

    *

    Staff events

    *

    Free on-site parking

    *

    Friendly and supportive team environment

    Why Apply?

This position is perfect for a Class 1 Driver who is looking to move away from long-distance driving and into a more varied, workshop-focused role. You'll be an important part of the operation, helping commercial vehicles move efficiently through the workshop while still making use of your HGV driving licence and experience.

If you're looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday role where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you
