How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are looking for reliable, confident and dedicated Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work across a number of primary schools in Walsall, Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong SEN experience who understand how to support children with additional needs and can provide the consistency, patience and encouragement they need to thrive. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced practitioners looking for flexible work, longer-term placements or the opportunity to build strong relationships within local primary schools.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing. Depending on the school and individual needs of the pupils, your responsibilities may include:

    • Supporting pupils in the classroom and during learning activities
    • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
    • Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND/SEN)
    • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour
    • Working alongside teachers and other support staff to provide effective learning support
    • Supporting children who may require additional help with communication, behaviour, emotional regulation or learning
    • Creating positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    • Helping to maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

We are looking for individuals who are genuinely passionate about working with children and who understand the importance of providing consistent, patient and nurturing support. You will ideally have:

    • Previous experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting
    • Experience supporting children with SEN, SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs
    • A calm, patient and resilient approach
    • The ability to build positive relationships with children quickly
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Confidence supporting learning and managing behaviour appropriately
    • A professional and reliable attitude
    • The ability to adapt to different classroom environments and pupil needs

    SEN EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs.
Whether you have worked as an SEN Teaching Assistant, 1:1 Support Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant or in another child-focused role, your experience could be highly valuable. Mainstream primary school experience is also welcomed where candidates demonstrate the right attitude, resilience and commitment to supporting children.

    • Opportunities across Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas
    • Flexible and longer-term opportunities available
    • The opportunity to work within a range of welcoming primary school environments
    • Support from a dedicated recruitment team
    • Opportunities to build valuable experience within education
    • The chance to make a genuine difference to children's lives

If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN practitioner looking for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for people who are dependable, professional and genuinely committed to helping children achieve their potential.

Apply today with your CV and a brief overview of your experience.
All applicants will be subject to the appropriate safeguarding and recruitment checks.
