How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Ecommerce Manager | West Sussex

    Salary: DOE

Want to take an established e-commerce site and make it perform better?

This is a great opportunity to join a well-known retail business and take real ownership of its online performance, with plenty of scope to improve conversion, customer journey and sales.

    The role

This is a hands-on e-commerce role for someone who enjoys getting into the numbers, spotting opportunities and making changes that have a measurable impact.

You'll take ownership of the day-to-day performance and development of the website, looking at what's working, what isn't and where improvements can be made.

    You'll be:

Using data and reporting to understand website performance and identify opportunities for growth.
Improving conversion rates and the overall customer journey.
Looking at navigation, product pages, basket and checkout to find areas for improvement.
Spotting and resolving website issues and bugs.
Developing and implementing CRO and testing ideas.
Monitoring key e-commerce KPIs and turning the numbers into actions.
Working with developers and external suppliers on improvements to the site.
Making sure the website follows e-commerce best practice.
Supporting and developing an E-commerce Executive within the team. The site runs on Trade-it by Red Technology, but experience with this platform isn't essential.

    What are we looking for?

You'll already have good experience within e-commerce and, most importantly, you'll be able to show how you've improved the performance of a website.

We're looking for someone who can talk through the numbers and explain the difference they've made.

Perhaps you've increased conversion, improved the checkout journey, grown online sales or spotted something in the data that led to a positive change.

    You'll ideally have experience with:

    E-commerce website management.
    Analytics and reporting.
    CRO and A/B testing.
    Customer journey optimisation.
    GA4 or similar analytics tools.
Working with developers, agencies or platform providers.
Managing or developing a junior member of the team. You don't need to come from a particular sector. Retail or consumer e-commerce experience would be useful, but the business is much more interested in your e-commerce knowledge, technical ability and commercial mindset.

    This is an office-based role.

If you're commercially minded, enjoy improving website performance and want a role where you can make a real difference, I'd love to hear from you.
