How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SALES MANAGER – SPECIAL PURPOSE PRINT & PACKAGING MACHINERY

    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: £50,000 Basic + 4% Commission on Sales
    Type: Full-time, Permanent

    THE OPPORTUNITY

    We are working with an established and technically innovative special purpose machinery manufacturer specialising in bespoke print and packaging machinery.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to take responsibility for developing new business, managing customer relationships and driving sales of high-value, technically complex machinery.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who understands capital equipment, industrial machinery, print, packaging or automation and is motivated by a strong commission structure.

    THE ROLE

    As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:

    * Developing new business opportunities across the UK and potentially international markets.

    * Selling bespoke and special purpose print and packaging machinery to industrial customers.

    * Managing the complete sales process from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation and order.

    * Building strong relationships with new and existing customers.

    * Understanding customer requirements and working closely with engineering teams to develop the right technical solution.

    * Conducting customer visits, site surveys and product demonstrations where required.

    * Preparing and presenting commercial proposals and quotations.

    * Negotiating contracts and closing high-value machinery sales.

    * Identifying new markets, customers and commercial opportunities.

    * Maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and providing regular sales forecasts.

    * Representing the company at exhibitions, industry events and customer meetings.

    * Working closely with engineering, production and project teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

    We are looking for someone with a proven track record in technical B2B sales, ideally selling:

    * Special purpose machinery

    * Print machinery

    * Packaging machinery

    * Packaging equipment

    * Industrial automation

    * Capital equipment

    * Bespoke machinery

    * Production machinery

    You will ideally have experience selling high-value, technically complex products with a consultative sales approach.

    You should be commercially confident, technically curious and comfortable dealing with engineers, production managers, procurement teams and senior decision-makers.
