How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Legal Secretary - Private Client Team
    Poole | Full-time | Permanent

    Join a well-established, people-focused legal team
Are you an experienced Secretary or Administrator looking for your next opportunity within a professional and supportive environment?

We're looking for a Legal Secretary to join an established Private Client team in Poole. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in being organised, accurate and dependable, and who enjoys playing an important role in keeping a busy professional team running smoothly.

You'll become a valued member of a friendly team where your contribution genuinely matters, working alongside experienced professionals and providing essential day-to-day secretarial and administrative support.

    What's in it for you?
A friendly and supportive team where people work collaboratively and look out for one another.

A well-established professional environment offering stability and the opportunity to build a long-term career.

A role where you're genuinely valued and your organisation, accuracy and attention to detail make a real difference.

A great Poole location with convenient on-site free parking.

A strong benefits package, including 25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Your birthday off, giving you an extra day to celebrate your special day.

Enhanced maternity pay and company sick pay.

    Company pension and death-in-service benefit.

Employee discounts and regular company events.

The opportunity to develop your professional and administrative skills within an experienced team.

    About the role
As a Legal Secretary, you'll provide essential secretarial and administrative support to the Private Client team. You'll be someone the team can rely on to keep things organised, accurate and running efficiently.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Preparing, formatting and typing letters, emails and legal documents.

    Transcribing dictation accurately.

Managing diaries, arranging appointments and coordinating meetings.

Handling incoming calls and correspondence professionally.

Providing day-to-day support to fee earners and the wider team.

Opening, maintaining and closing files in line with company procedures.

Maintaining accurate electronic and paper filing systems.

Preparing documents and correspondence for meetings and appointments.

Updating case management systems and maintaining accurate records.

Processing post, scanning, printing, photocopying and general office administration.

Supporting the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the department.

    About you
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and professional, with a genuine pride in delivering high-quality administrative support.

    You'll ideally be:

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

    A confident and accurate typist.

Professional, approachable and confident communicating with clients and colleagues.

Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Able to work independently while being a supportive team player.

Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.

Someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, Secretary, Administrator or within a professional services environment would be advantageous.

A role for someone who loves being the person everyone can rely on
This is a dedicated secretarial and administrative position. It's ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, document preparation, communication and providing dependable support to a busy professional team.

You won't be expected to undertake fee-earning work or legal casework. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to focus on what you do best - keeping a team organised, supporting colleagues and making sure everything runs smoothly.

If you're looking for a stable role within a friendly, established team where your work is genuinely appreciated, we'd love to hear from you.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
