How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Engineering @ 365 is recruiting on behalf of our client based in Loughborough. We are looking for an experienced SMT Operator to join their production team.

    Job Description:
    Our client is a contract electronics manufacturer, providing design and production services for a wide range of sectors.

    As an SMT Operator, you will play a key role within a collaborative, fast-paced production team, operating and monitoring surface mount technology equipment to produce high quality PCBAs. This is a full-time, on-site position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Setting up SMT machines, including loading components and feeders

    * Running production batches and monitoring equipment to ensure accurate placement and soldering of components on PCBAs

    * Inspecting boards for quality and identifying and rectifying defects

    * Performing basic troubleshooting and adjustments, escalating technical issues when necessary

    * Following work instructions, production schedules, and technical documentation accurately

    * Maintaining accurate production records and tracking work orders using production software

    * Collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet delivery targets and quality standards

    * Keeping workstations clean, organised, and compliant with safety procedures

    * Working to strict health and safety guidelines and procedures

    Requirements:

    * Previous experience as an SMT Operator (essential)

    * Proven SMT skills, including operating pick-and-place machines, handling feeders, and performing basic equipment setup and adjustments

    * Experience in PCB assembly processes, including soldering, reflow profiling, and visual inspection of electronic assemblies

    * Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials

    * Great attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset

    * Familiarity with working to ISO or similar quality standards

    * Basic understanding of electronic components and manufacturing workflows in a low to medium volume, high mix environment

    * Good teamwork and communication skills

    * Comfortable using computers and production software for job setup and data entry

    * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting
