How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer / Technician
    Littlehampton
    £40,000–£45,000
    Permanent

    Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer / Technician with strong fault-finding skills and experience maintaining complex machinery? This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy leisure operation where safety, reliability and technical standards are paramount.

    The Maintenance Engineer / Technician will maintain rides, attractions, plant and site equipment across a varied environment. You’ll work across planned preventative maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs, with genuine scope to develop towards a future maintenance management position.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment safely and effectively.
    Complete planned preventative maintenance, inspections and reactive repairs.
    Diagnose faults and determine practical repair solutions.
    Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
    Record maintenance and inspection activities using tablets, computers and written documentation.
    Support compliance with HSG 175 and relevant health and safety requirements.
    Monitor spare parts and liaise with suppliers to minimise equipment downtime.
    Demonstrate, train and supervise junior maintenance team members.
    Skills & Knowledge Required

    Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject.
    Minimum 5 years’ practical experience as a qualified technician, mechanic or engineer.
    Experience with machinery such as gearboxes, bearings, brakes, restraints, hydraulics or pneumatics.
    Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and independent decision-making skills.
    Experience in mechanical engineering, plant, agricultural, military, HGV or similar servicing environments.
    Full UK driving licence (B/B1).
    Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, plus tablet-based systems.
    Strong communication skills with a proactive, professional and safety-focused approach.

    The Maintenance Engineer / Technician role requires flexibility to work outdoors, at heights and across varied working environments. During the summer season, one weekend day and bank holidays are required; weekends are generally available off during winter
