How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Manager – Plant, Construction, Agricultural & Industrial Equipment markets

    Flexible Home Location | Field based

    £60k to 70k Salary + Uncapped commissions with OTE at 30k OTE + Car Allowance

    Our client is a strong growth UK fleet services business with a significant opportunity to grow further in the plant, construction, agricultural and industrial equipment sectors. We’re looking for a driven business developer with sector knowledge, strong commercial judgement and a track record of winning new contracts.

    You’ll create your own pipeline, build relationships with decision-makers and develop solutions that help customers improve equipment availability and control operating costs. You’ll own the sales process from first contact to signed contract.

    What you’ll do

    * Prospect and win new customers operating plant and heavy equipment

    * Build relationships with plant directors, fleet managers, operations teams and procurement

    * Understand customers’ operational challenges and develop tailored proposals

    * Lead tenders, commercial negotiations and contract close

    * Maintain a well-qualified pipeline and accurate forecasts

    * Work with internal specialists to ensure a smooth handover of new business

    What you’ll bring

    * A proven track record in B2B new business sales within plant, heavy equipment or specialist services supplied to the sector

    * Experience with a manufacturer, dealer, distributor or specialist supplier

    * Strong understanding of plant operations, equipment uptime and cost pressures

    * The drive to generate your own opportunities and the confidence to ask for the business

    * Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple decision-makers

    * Strong organisation and a willingness to travel nationally
