How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Contract Manager – Aluminium / Manufacturing

    Location: Cradley Heath
    Salary: £48,000 + 6% bonus
Working Pattern: Monday & Friday working from home, with a 1pm finish on Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday office-based.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Manager to join a well-established business operating within the aluminium and manufacturing sector.

This is a commercially focused role managing a portfolio of contracted and transactional customers, with responsibility for developing existing relationships, identifying opportunities and increasing customer spend through value-added products and services.

The successful candidate will be commercially strong and confident dealing with customers at all levels. Experience within manufacturing, metals, aluminium, stockholding or engineering would be highly advantageous.

    The Role

    *

Manage a portfolio of approximately 20 contracted customers, alongside around 10 transactional accounts

    *

Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships

    *

Identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability across existing accounts

    *

Promote value-added solutions, including aluminium fabrication and machining services

    *

Understand customer requirements and work closely with internal teams to deliver the right solutions

    *

Manage commercial discussions, pricing and contract requirements

    *

Identify opportunities for additional products, services and increased customer spend

    *

Monitor account performance and work towards agreed sales and commercial targets

    *

Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and purchasing contacts

    *

Support customer retention and ensure a high level of service is maintained

    *

Work collaboratively with internal sales, operations and production teams

    *

Keep up to date with market conditions, customer requirements and competitor activity

    About You

We are looking for someone with a strong commercial and account management background, ideally gained within a manufacturing, metals, aluminium, engineering or stockholding environment.

    You will ideally have:

    *

Previous experience in Contract Management, Account Management, Sales or Business Development

    *

A strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and generate additional revenue

    *

Experience managing and developing existing customer accounts

    *

An understanding of manufacturing, engineering or metal products

    *

Ideally, exposure to aluminium fabrication, machining or value-added services

    *

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

    *

    Strong negotiation and commercial awareness

    *

The ability to understand customer requirements and translate these into commercial opportunities

    *

A stable career history and evidence of building long-term relationships

    *

A proactive and commercially driven approach

This would suit someone who enjoys developing established customer relationships and growing existing business, rather than a purely new-business-focused sales role.

    What's on Offer

    *

    £48,000 basic salary

    *

    6% annual bonus

    *

    Hybrid working

    *

Monday & Friday working from home

    *

    1pm finish on Friday

    *

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday office-based in Cradley Heath

    *

Opportunity to join an established and growing business

    *

    Long-term career development and progression
