How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Attending breakdowns and responding to customer requirements

    * Working on wastewater, pumping and associated treatment systems

    * Completing service reports and maintenance records

    * Providing a professional and helpful service to customers

    * Working independently while being supported by an experienced team

    About You

    We are interested in speaking with engineers who have hands-on field service or maintenance experience.

    Direct septic tank experience is not essential. Experience in any of the following areas would be highly relevant:

    * Pump servicing and maintenance

    * Water or wastewater treatment

    * Sewage treatment systems

    * Pumping stations

    * Drainage equipment

    * Water treatment equipment

    * Industrial pumps and motors

    You should be comfortable fault finding, working with mechanical equipment and dealing directly with customers.

    A background as a Pump Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Water Treatment Engineer, Wastewater Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar would be particularly relevant.

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Previous hands-on engineering/service experience

    * Mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills

    * Experience working with pumps or similar equipment

    * Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability

    * Comfortable working independently at customer sites

    If you're a practical, hands-on Service Engineer looking for a new opportunity with a friendly family-run business, we'd love to hear from you.
