How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This is an opportunity to work directly with pupils, teachers and support teams while gaining practical experience before progressing into teacher training, permanent education roles or other specialist pathways.

    The Role

    As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you could support pupils across a range of educational settings, depending on your experience, interests and career plans.

    Responsibilities may include:

    Supporting pupils with their learning across lessons and activities
    Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
    Assisting teachers with classroom activities and preparation
    Supporting pupils with additional learning or SEND requirements
    Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence
    Helping create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
    Developing an understanding of classroom practice and effective teaching
    Building professional relationships with pupils and education staff

    Who We're Looking For:

    This opportunity would suit graduates who are considering careers such as teaching, educational psychology, SEND, youth work or wider education.

    You should have:

    A degree or equivalent qualification
    An interest in developing a career within education
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    The ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
    Patience, reliability and a professional approach
    The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
    A willingness to learn and take feedback
    Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential
