How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sports Coach- Ellesmere Port

    Long-Term | Full-Time | Specialist SEND School

    A specialist SEND school in Ellesmere Port is looking for a passionate Sports Coach to join their team as a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right person.

    The school provides a nurturing, supportive and highly structured environment for young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including pupils with autism and complex learning needs. This role would be based in secondary between KS3 and KS4.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in sports coaching, PE, youth work or supporting young people who wants to use their skills to make a genuine difference to pupils' education, confidence and development.

    The Role

    As a Sports Coach working as a Teaching Assistant, you'll use sport and physical activity as a positive way to engage pupils and support their learning and development.

    You'll work closely with teachers and specialist staff, providing 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.

    You'll help pupils to:

    Build confidence, resilience and self-esteem
    Develop communication and social skills
    Improve teamwork and cooperation
    Develop emotional regulation
    Manage behaviour and emotions positively
    Build positive relationships with adults and peers
    Develop motivation and engagement

    Sport at the Heart of Learning

    This isn't simply a sports coaching role.

    You'll be working as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils across the school day while using your sporting background to engage, motivate and build positive relationships.

    For some pupils, sport and physical activity can provide a powerful way to communicate, build trust and experience success.

    You'll use activities such as team games, physical challenges and structured sporting activities to develop confidence, communication, teamwork, resilience and emotional regulation.

    You'll also support pupils within the classroom and wider school environment, working alongside teachers to help them access their education and achieve their individual goals.
