How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Engineering Team Leader | Drinks Manufacturing | Lanarkshire

Days and backs, Monday to Friday OR  weekend shift

We're working with one of Scotland's best known drinks producers to find Engineering Team Leaders for their high speed production operation in Lanarkshire.

There are three roles. Two are on a days and backs pattern, Monday to Friday. The third is a weekend shift.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced maintenance or engineering professional. You'll lead from the front on shift, develop your team and make the lines run better, not just keep them running. The business is putting real focus on reliability and continuous improvement, so this suits someone who wants to fix things for good, not just patch them up.

    What you'll be doing

Coordinating shift activity to get the best out of your team and resources

Making sure all maintenance is completed safely and in line with company and legislative requirements

Managing contractors in line with site procedures

Owning planned and corrective maintenance schedules for production lines and site services

Driving equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects

Working closely with Bottling Team Leaders and operations to support line performance

Reviewing maintenance activity in the CMMS to cut out non-value-adding tasks

Spotting skills gaps and supporting technician training and development

Supporting new product introductions, trials, capital projects and line improvements

Producing technical reports and improvement plans based on operational data

    What you'll bring

A maintenance or engineering background in manufacturing, ideally drinks, FMCG or food production

Experience leading, coordinating or coaching technical teams

Strong fault finding and problem solving skills

A good understanding of planned and preventative maintenance

Experience with a CMMS such as IFS, SAP or similar

A continuous improvement mindset and a strong focus on safety

Good communication skills and the ability to juggle priorities

    What's on offer

Generous holidays with the option to buy or sell days

Private healthcare and a remote GP service

Strong pension with employer contributions of up to 10%

    Life assurance

Product allocation, cycle to work scheme and plenty more

Mechanical or electrical bias is fine. Time served is preferred.
