How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Geospatial Surveyor
    Location: East Anglia
    Salary: £32,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
    Employment: Full-time
    East Anglian Site Engineering Ltd (E.A.S.E.) is looking for an experienced Senior Geospatial Surveyor to join our growing Geospatial team.
    We have an expanding and varied workload and are looking for someone with a broad surveying background who is comfortable taking responsibility for different types of geospatial projects.
    Our immediate workload includes projects around Sizewell and Suffolk, but longer term the role will involve work across East Anglia and surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for an experienced surveyor who enjoys variety, can work independently and would like to become an important part of a developing team.
    The Role
    You'll be working across a varied range of geospatial projects throughout East Anglia, initially with a significant workload around Suffolk.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Carrying out topographical and measured building surveys
    * Undertaking terrestrial laser scanning
    * Processing survey and point cloud data
    * Producing accurate CAD drawings and survey deliverables
    * Establishing and working with survey control
    * Taking responsibility for projects from site work through to final deliverables
    * Working independently while liaising with clients and the wider EASE team
    Depending on your experience, there may also be opportunities to get involved in precise levelling and drone/UAV surveying.
    What We're Looking For
    We're looking for an experienced, well-rounded surveyor who is confident managing their own workload and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality survey work.
    Ideally, you'll have:
    * Strong topographical and measured building survey experience
    * Experience with terrestrial laser scanners such as Leica RTC360, Trimble X7 or similar
    * Good point cloud processing experience
    * Strong CAD skills, ideally including producing drawings from your own survey and point cloud data
    * Experience with N4ce, LSS or similar survey processing software
    Experience with control networks, digital or traditional precise levelling, drone/UAV surveying and GVC/RPC qualifications would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
    We're not expecting one person to tick every box. What's more important is a strong surveying background, a broad skill set and the ability to adapt to different types of work.
    About You
    As this is a senior position, we're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of their work.
    You'll ideally be:
    * Technically capable with a good breadth of surveying experience
    * Comfortable moving between different types of projects
    * Quality-focused and take pride in producing accurate work
    * Able to communicate confidently with clients and colleagues
    * Keen to develop your skills and take on further responsibility
    Location
    The immediate requirement is centred around Suffolk, with longer-term work expected across East Anglia and the surrounding region.
    We're particularly interested in hearing from people based in:
    * Suffolk
    * Norfolk
    * Cambridgeshire
    * Bedfordshire
    * Peterborough and surrounding areas
    * North East London and surrounding areas
    We're also happy to consider people from slightly further afield where the experience and overall fit are right.
    Salary & Progression
    The salary for the role is £32,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and capability.
    This is also an opportunity to join our Geospatial team at an important stage in its development. As the workload and team grow, there is genuine scope for the right person to progress into a management or leadership position.
    You'll have the opportunity to become an important part of the team as it develops and have a real influence on how we deliver our geospatial work in the future.
    Interested?
    If you're an experienced surveyor looking for varied work, more responsibility and the opportunity to develop with a growing business, we'd like to hear from you.
