How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mental Health Assistant
    Location: Reading
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £90.00 - £105.00 per day

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing? Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to pupils who require additional support?

    A supportive and inclusive school in Reading is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in psychology, mental health, education, youth work, or care to gain valuable experience within a specialist school environment.

    As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may experience anxiety, low confidence, emotional difficulties, or challenges with social interaction. You will help pupils feel safe and supported while encouraging them to engage positively with their education.

    As a Mental Health Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

    Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
    Supporting children and young people with emotional and mental health needs
    Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
    Supporting positive behaviour and engagement with learning
    Creating a calm, safe, and nurturing environment
    Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff
    Following individual support plans and agreed strategiesThe ideal Mental Health Assistant will have experience working with children or young people and a genuine interest in mental health and wellbeing. Experience within education, care, psychology, youth work, or support work would be beneficial.
