How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Learning & Development Manager

    Permanent | Full-time

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established fresh produce business focused on improving onboarding, training, and employee development across the organisation. Working closely with HR, Operations, and Quality teams, you'll take ownership of learning and development activities, ensuring employees have the skills, knowledge, and support needed to perform and progress.

    This role offers broad exposure across the business, giving you the opportunity to work with stakeholders at all levels while creating and delivering impactful training programmes, development initiatives, and employee engagement activities. You'll play a key role in fostering a positive learning culture and driving continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

    What you'll be doing

    As a Learning & Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

    Taking ownership of onboarding processes and ensuring new starters are effectively integrated into the business.
    Reviewing, developing, and improving training plans across multiple departments.
    Managing learning platforms, training records, and development programmes.
    Designing and implementing structured training initiatives to support business objectives.
    Supporting managers and employees through coaching, mentoring, and development activities.
    Managing employee assessments and identifying opportunities for further development.
    Developing and maintaining Personal Development Plans (PDPs) across the organisation.
    Working closely with HR, Operations, and Quality teams to support wider people initiatives.
    Co-ordinating training-related events and employee engagement activities.
    Identifying skills gaps and implementing effective development solutions.
    Monitoring training effectiveness and implementing improvements where required.
    Promoting a culture of continuous learning, development, and employee engagement.
    Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to support learning and development objectives.
    Taking ownership of the Learning & Development function and driving continuous improvement across training processes.What we're looking for

    We're looking for a people-focused learning and development professional who is passionate about helping individuals and teams reach their full potential. You'll be comfortable working independently, influencing stakeholders, and managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

    Ideally, you'll have:

    Previous experience within a Learning & Development, Training, HR, or People Development role.
    Experience working within fresh produce, food manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing, or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
    Experience developing and delivering structured training programmes.
    Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
    Experience managing training systems, learning platforms, and employee development programmes.
    Excellent organisational and planning skills.
    Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
    Experience working cross-functionally with multiple departments.
    The ability to identify development needs and implement effective training solutions.
    Experience managing assessments and Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
    A proactive, self-sufficient approach with the ability to work independently.
