Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring all plant equipment and machinery operate efficiently with minimal downtime while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responding to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Diagnosing faults using root cause analysis techniques
* Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams
* Maintaining accurate technical reports and work orders
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Managing spare parts and liaising with suppliers/vendors
Additional responsibilities (Tier 4):
Leading training and development of team members
Analysing maintenance data to identify trends and improvements
Modifying maintenance schedules and implementing condition-based monitoring
Supporting audits and driving continuous improvement projects
Acting as a leader within the team and stepping in for management when required
Skills & Experience:
* Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
* Experience with fault finding, repair, and reading technical schematics
* Knowledge of pneumatics, robotics, and PLC systems
* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automation systems
* Engineering qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent)
Additional for Tier 4:
Leadership experience
Ability to create and modify PLC programs
Experience with advanced/cleanroom equipment (desirable)
Project management experience (small-scale projects)
