How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - High-End Residential
    Up to £40,000 + Package
    Chelsea, West London
     
    The Highlights

    Combined Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Assistant Estimator role, gaining experience from tender pricing through to project completion.
    Chelsea office base, with all projects located in West London.
    Bespoke, high-end residential projects for private clients and developers.
    Work closely with the Head of Commercial and two other surveyors.
    One day per week working from home, increasing to two once established.

    Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build your estimating experience alongside managing live projects?
    This privately owned residential contractor and developer is looking for an Assistant QS / Estimator to join its commercial team. Based in Chelsea, you'll work across high-end residential schemes in West London, developing your understanding of both pre-construction and project delivery.
    You'll receive support from the Head of Commercial while taking increasing responsibility for your own work. Your duties will include:

    Assisting with estimates, quantity take-offs and tender submissions.
    Reviewing drawings, specifications and subcontractor quotations.
    Supporting subcontractor procurement, tender comparisons and order placement.
    Preparing valuations, assessing variations and managing subcontractor accounts.
    Updating budgets, cost reports and forecasts.
    Attending site visits and meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
    Helping manage the commercial performance of projects through to final account. As your experience grows, you'll have the opportunity to take greater commercial ownership of live schemes, with guidance from the wider team.

    Requirements - What You'll Bring

    A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
    At least one year of site-based construction experience on projects valued above £5 million.
    High-end residential experience is preferred, but candidates from other construction sectors will be considered.
    An interest in both quantity surveying and estimating.
    Good communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning. Rewards - What You'll Gain
