How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This Interim Operations Manager role in the industrial and manufacturing sector involves overseeing daily operations to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll focus on driving performance, managing teams, and improving processes to meet business goals.

Renowned for engineering excellence, operational reliability and product innovation, the organisation supports a diverse customer base across highly regulated and technically demanding industries. Due to ongoing operational requirements and a continued focus on performance improvement, they are seeking an experienced Interim Operations Manager to join their team in Coventry.

    Description

    Leading manufacturing and operational teams to achieve business and site KPIs.
    Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives across the facility.
    Ensuring compliance with all health & safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
    Managing labour utilisation, productivity improvements, waste reduction and operational costs.
    Developing, coaching and mentoring operational leaders to build capability and succession within the team.
    Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, HR and Finance teams to achieve site objectives.
    Supporting operational transformation, capital investment projects and business improvement programmes.
    Monitoring operational budgets and implementing corrective actions where required.
    Driving efficiency, throughput, OTIF performance and customer service improvements.
    Supporting customer demands within highly regulated industrial, defence and aerospace environments.
    Creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement across the operation.

    Profile

    A successful Interim Operations Manager should have:

    Significant experience within a senior manufacturing or operations leadership role.
    Previous experience in industrial manufacturing, aerospace, defence, engineering or precision manufacturing environments.
    Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production management and operational performance improvement.
    Demonstrated success in delivering productivity, efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives.
    Experience managing large operational teams through supervisors and team leaders.
    Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
    Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Operational Excellence methodologies.
    Strong commercial awareness with budget and cost centre management experience.
    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
    Lean Six Sigma, IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be beneficial.Job Offer

    Daily rate of £500 to £600, dependent on the level of experience.
    Temporary contract with a focus on key operational improvements.
