How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a Finance Manager in Derby within the industrial and manufacturing sector, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations to ensure the business runs smoothly.

    This role involves managing budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

    Our client is a growing organisation in Derby and looking to add a Finance Manager into this newly created opportunity.

    This is a fantastic position reporting to the Head of Finance which will be a varied role including Management Accounting and Business Partnering.

    This is a 5 days on site position in Derby.

    Description

    Oversee and manage the company's financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting.
    Prepare accurate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
    Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    Monitor and analyse financial performance to support decision-making.
    Manage cash flow and oversee financial planning activities.
    Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with financial goals.
    Supervise and support the accounting team in daily operations.
    Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.Profile

    A successful Finance Manager should have:

    Proven expertise in financial management within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
    Qualified by Experience or Qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
    Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    Proficiency in financial software and systems.
    Ability to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
