How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary Special Needs School – Trafford

    The Role

    Cover People are looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Trafford, supporting children with Autism and Complex Needs.

    Start Date: ASAP
    Daily Rate: £100–£115 DOE, paid PAYE
    Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
    Contract: Full-time, long-term
    Role: Supporting Y5 pupil on a 1:1 basis with Autism and challenging behaviours.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build valuable specialist SEND experience while making a genuine difference to a child's day-to-day life.

    You'll provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs who can display challenging behaviours as a result of their needs. You'll need to be calm, consistent and confident, while building a strong relationship based on trust and understanding.

    About the Role – SEND Teaching Assistant

    You'll provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil, helping them access learning and take part in school life.

    You will:

    Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
    Build a trusting relationship with the pupil.
    Support learning, communication and engagement.
    Help develop independence and social skills.
    Use positive strategies to support emotional regulation and behaviour.
    Remain calm and consistent when challenging behaviour occurs.
    Adapt activities and support around the pupil's individual needs.
    Work closely with the class teacher and wider specialist team.
    Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND.

    Requirements

    A CV with full education and employment history.
    Minimum 3 months' verifiable experience supporting young people.
    Right to work in the UK.
    Valid photo ID and proof of address.
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
    Minimum of 2 professional references covering the last 2 years.
    Positive, consistent and resilient approach.
    Genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with SEND.
    Overseas police certificate, if applicable.
