How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As our Industrial & Commercial and Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC) portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Commercial, Industrial & EVC Estimator to join our Estimating team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing new business by developing accurate, competitive and commercially robust tender submissions that support sustainable growth.

    Responsibilities

    * Manage Commercial, Industrial and EVC enquiries from qualification through to submission, negotiation and post-tender follow-up.

    * Assess customer requirements, bid suitability, commercial viability and strategic fit of opportunities.

    * Review drawings, specifications, schedules, utility requirements and contract documentation to establish project scope.

    * Produce detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, civils, utility infrastructure, specialist equipment and subcontract services.

    * Obtain, evaluate and incorporate supplier and subcontractor quotations into tender submissions.

    * Coordinate technical, commercial, operational and procurement inputs to develop comprehensive tender solutions.

    * Prepare tender submissions including assumptions, qualifications, exclusions and clarifications.

    * Identify scope gaps, risks, opportunities, programme constraints and value engineering solutions.

    * Review commercial and contractual requirements, highlighting liabilities and non-standard obligations.

    * Support customer engagement, clarification meetings and commercial negotiations.

    * Maintain accurate tender, pipeline and reporting information within Salesforce and estimating systems.

    * Complete structured handovers for awarded projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    Skills Required

    * Proven estimating experience within utilities, electrical infrastructure, industrial, commercial, construction or Electric Vehicle Charging projects.

    * Strong experience preparing detailed cost build-ups, tenders, qualifications and commercially robust submissions.

    * Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, technical information, scope documents and customer requirements.

    * Working knowledge of civils, utility infrastructure and LV/HV electrical systems.

    * Strong understanding of EVC infrastructure and associated utility interfaces.

    * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify risks, opportunities, scope gaps and contractual considerations.

    * Experience obtaining, evaluating and incorporating supplier and subcontractor quotations, reviewing contractual requirements and supporting commercial risk assessments.

    * Excellent communication and negotiation skills with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

    * Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.

    * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate submissions against deadlines.

    * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

    * Experience using Salesforce, estimating software and reporting systems.

    * Experience within ICP, IDNO, DNO, multi-utility or private network projects would be advantageous.

    * Experience developing estimating benchmarks, templates and process improvements would be beneficial.

    Educational Requirements

    * Relevant industry experience or professional qualifications within utilities, electrical infrastructure, industrial, commercial, construction, engineering or estimating environments.

    * Technical, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commercial or Construction-related qualification.

    * Equivalent industry experience supported by a successful track record in estimating and tender development.

    * Commitment to maintaining and developing technical, commercial and industry knowledge.
