How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.

    What will you do?

he CWA is recruiting directly for a Project Engineer – Metal to lead engineering across a significant section of its stainless-steel fabrication scope.

Working across supplier facilities and CWA self-delivered site works, the successful candidate will coordinate Section Engineers, Site Engineers and supplier engineering teams against a single delivery plan. They will establish consistent engineering standards and act as the principal engineering point of contact for the Package Project Manager.

This is an influential delivery role with substantial responsibility for quality planning, technical assurance and right-first-time production. The Project Engineer will ensure engineering issues are resolved before work reaches the shop floor, helping the package maintain safety, quality and programme performance.

Coordinating engineering activities across the section and allocating work according to delivery priorities.

Ensuring drawings, Engineering Data Requirements, Interface Data Sheets, method statements and technical documents are current and fit for purpose.

Managing technical queries and design interfaces with the Responsible Designer, Technical Lead and relevant engineering teams.

Reviewing supplier and contractor fabrication plans, construction plans, procedures and technical submissions.

Owning the engineering content of Inspection and Test Plans and quality plans.

Driving non-conformances and concessions through to effective closure, supported by root-cause analysis.

Ensuring fabrication records achieve Lifetime Quality Record standards as the work progresses.

Working with welding and non-destructive testing specialists to ensure the required inspection regime is consistently applied.

Leading technical meetings with suppliers and subcontractors and supporting production, risk and pre-production reviews.

Working with Planning to ensure engineering does not become a constraint to the delivery programme.

Supporting the Package Project Manager with cost, risk and change management.

Leading, coaching and developing the engineers working across the section.

Promoting Nuclear Safety Culture and ensuring appropriate risk assessments, method statements and lifting plans are approved and communicated

    What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be accountable for engineering coordination, technical quality and the consistent application of standards across the allocated section. They will provide visible leadership to internal engineers and supply-chain partners while supporting safe, efficient and right-first-time delivery.

    They should bring:

A degree, HNC or HND in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Significant experience in stainless or structural-steel fabrication and welding across workshop and site environments.

Previous responsibility for leading and developing a team of engineers.

Strong knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans, non-conformance processes, concessions and fabrication quality records.

The ability to interpret detailed drawings, specifications, risk assessments, method statements and technical documentation.

Experience managing technical queries, design interfaces and engineering change.

Working knowledge of Control of Work and Management of Change processes.

Experience managing third-party, multidisciplinary teams on behalf of a client or delivery organisation.

Strong communication, coordination and organisational skills.

The ability to meet the required security-vetting criteria, which ordinarily includes UK residency for at least three of the previous five years
