How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Futures are recruiting a reliable and adaptable Shop Floor Operative on behalf of our client. This varied, hands-on role will support several areas of the business, including supply chain, quality and production, alongside operating a forklift truck (FLT).

    You will move between departments according to business needs, helping to keep materials flowing, production running efficiently and finished products meeting the required standards.

    Key responsibilities

    Support goods-in activities, checking deliveries against paperwork and reporting discrepancies or damage.
    Move, store and supply materials to production areas, maintaining accurate stock records and assisting with stock checks.
    Pick, pack, label and prepare orders for dispatch.
    Assist with production activities, including preparing materials, assembly and packing, following work instructions.
    Operate production equipment where trained and authorised.
    Carry out visual and basic dimensional quality checks against agreed specifications.
    Record inspection results and report defects, non-conforming products or process concerns promptly.
    Operate an FLT to load and unload vehicles and move materials safely around the site, where trained and authorised.
    Complete pre-use FLT checks and report faults or damage.
    Maintain accurate production, stock and quality documentation.
    Keep work areas clean, tidy and organised, following site health and safety procedures.
    Work closely with colleagues across departments and undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
    The successful candidate will have:

    Experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment.
    Relevant FLT training certification and practical operating experience.
    A flexible approach and willingness to learn new tasks.
    The ability to follow written instructions and complete records accurately.
    Good communication and teamwork skills.
    A dependable approach to attendance, timekeeping and completing tasks.
    A strong commitment to safe working practices and product quality.
    Experience with stock control systems, quality inspections or working across multiple departments would be advantageous
