How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Search² has been exclusively engaged by a specialist Health & Safety and CDM consultancy to recruit a CDM / Health & Safety Consultant for a major data centre programme in the North East.

This is a long-term, site-based position that will see you embedded directly within the consultancy's client, supporting construction Health & Safety and CDM activities across two data centre facilities in Blyth.

The sites are at different stages of development and fit-out, with significant civils, M&E and construction activity taking place. What you will be doing

Providing day-to-day construction Health & Safety and CDM support across the sites
Carrying out regular site inspections and Health & Safety audits
Supporting project teams in meeting their duties under the CDM Regulations
Reviewing construction activities, risk controls and relevant Health & Safety documentation
Working closely with contractors across civils, M&E and fit-out activities
Attending project, contractor and Health & Safety meetings
Identifying areas of risk or non-compliance and working collaboratively with teams to address them
Supporting the wider CDM / Principal Designer function throughout different stages of the projects What you will need

Experience within construction Health & Safety, CDM or a related role
A strong practical understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015
Experience working with contractors and project teams within construction environments
Confidence carrying out site inspections, audits and reviewing Health & Safety arrangements
A relevant Health & Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at different levels Experience within data centres would be advantageous, although this isn't essential. We're equally interested in people from complex construction, engineering, M&E, civils or fit-out environments.

    Why consider this opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a growing consultancy that is significantly expanding its CDM and Principal Designer capability.

Unlike many consultancy positions that involve travelling between multiple clients and projects, you'll be embedded within one major client environment, allowing you to develop strong relationships with the project teams and have a genuine influence on Health & Safety and CDM standards across the programme.

You'll be joining at an exciting stage of growth, with the opportunity to work on a major data centre development and become an important part of the consultancy's expanding CDM offering.
