How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Apprentice Classroom Support Assistant – Welcoming SEND School | Manchester

    Pay: £10.00 – £13.00 per hour (well above standard apprenticeship rates)
    Contract: Full-Time | 11-Month Programme
    Start Date: October 2026

    Engage Education is recruiting a staff member to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship based in one of our SEN Schools.

    This is a dedicated 11-month apprenticeship programme, providing the opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting pupils across the primary age range while working towards a recognised Level 3 Classroom Support/Teaching Assistant qualification.

    We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11-month programme.

    Key Responsibilities

    Working alongside class teachers and the wider school team, you will:

    * Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support to pupils

    * Assist teachers with delivering engaging learning activities across the curriculum

    * Support pupils with reading, writing, maths and other classroom-based activities

    * Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials

    * Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence

    * Support pupils with their social, emotional and communication development

    * Provide additional support for children with SEN and additional needs, where required

    * Assist pupils with individual learning targets and support plans

    * Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment

    * Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants and other members of the school team

    Who We're Looking For

    Requirements:

    * Commitment: Strong dedication to completing the full 11-month learning agreement and apprenticeship programme

    * Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

    * Academics: GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ (or equivalent) preferred

    * Eligibility: Not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
