How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Pay: £10.00 – £13.00 per hour (well above standard apprenticeship rates!)

    Are you looking to launch a career in special educational needs (SEN) support with paid, hands-on experience and a fully funded qualification?

    Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join the thriving SEN team at a vibrant, welcoming primary school in Tameside.

    This is a dedicated 11-month apprenticeship programme. We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11-month journey to gain their Level 3 qualification.

    Key Responsibilities Working directly within the school’s SEN team across EYFS, KS1, or KS2, you will:

    * Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and physical/learning difficulties)

    * Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks

    * Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment

    * Assist class teachers and the SENCo with resource preparation and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

    * Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities

    Who We’re Looking For Whether you are looking for your first step in education or making a career change into special needs support, what matters most is your passion, empathy, and commitment.

    Requirements:

    * Commitment: Strong dedication to completing the full 11-month learning agreement and apprenticeship course

    * Mindset: Patient, nurturing, reliable, and passionate about supporting children with SEN

    * Academics: GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ (or equivalent) preferred

    * Eligibility: Not currently enrolled in another government-funded course

    This role is ideal for aspiring SEN Specialists, Psychology graduates, Nursery Practitioners, or anyone seeking a rewarding career supporting children with extra needs.
