How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title:   Learning Support Assistant
    Location:   Glebedale School, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 3AY
    Hours:        37.5 per week | Monday – Friday 
    Salary:       £22,160.62  per annum (not pro rata)
    Contract:   Permanent | Term Time Only
    Start:         October 2026

    What you will be doing

    Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help students engage, learn and achieve

    Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing and independence

    Supporting learning across a broad and engaging curriculum

    Helping implement individual education, behaviour and wellbeing plans

    Working closely with teachers and other professionals to support student progress

    Encouraging positive social, emotional and behavioural development

    Recording progress and celebrating achievements, no matter how small

    Occasionally supporting educational visits and transport arrangements where required

    Who we are looking for

    You don't need to have worked in a school before. We welcome applications from people who are passionate about supporting young people and making a difference.

    GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent required

    Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals

    A caring, resilient and patient approach

    The ability to remain calm and positive when faced with challenges

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills

    A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life

    Driving licence required

    Glebedale School is a special needs school which provides provision for ages 7 years and upwards.  We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH students, and our curriculum has a keen focus on therapy, education and personal development.  Our school aims to help students grow academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to become capable future citizens.

    We provide education to 40 students from the Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire areas. At our last Ofsted in July 2025, we were rated “Good”.

    At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.

    We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the sixth year running.
