How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Programme Officer

    Position Details:

    Contract Type: Temporary. Contract Length: 5 weeks Monday - Friday 35 hours per week
    Hourly rate: £19.00Role Overview:
    As the Programme Officer, the successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for students and academic staff, providing comprehensive support for teaching and teaching-related activities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to kickstart or advance their career in Higher Education administration.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Deliver high-quality support for student lifecycle processes, from pre-enrolment to graduation and beyond.
    Handle student and academic inquiries face-to-face, via phone, and electronically, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
    Assist in student assessment processes, adhering to university deadlines and regulations.
    Support quality assurance and accreditation requirements for relevant programmes.
    Contribute to the development and improvement of programmes and processes based on user feedback.
    Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
    Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes equality and diversity.Ideal Candidate:

    Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a knack for drafting documents and correspondence.
    Strong organisational and time management skills, able to balance competing priorities effectively.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
    A proactive approach, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
