How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are recruiting a Business Administrator for a client in Leeds. This is a varied and hands-on role that will sit at the heart of the day-to-day operation of the business. The successful candidate will provide support across procurement, supplier management, finance, project administration, logistics and general business operations.

The position would suit somebody who enjoys working in a broad role where no two days are quite the same and who is comfortable coordinating activity across suppliers, projects, finance and internal teams.

    Business Administrator - The Role

Working closely with engineering, project and management teams, you will help ensure that purchasing, administration and operational processes run efficiently and accurately.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Managing day-to-day purchasing activities and raising purchase orders.

Monitoring supplier deliveries, lead times and outstanding orders. Maintaining supplier records and supporting supplier onboarding.

Liaising with suppliers and expediting orders where required. Supporting supplier performance monitoring and administration.

Assisting with project procurement planning and tracking project expenditure and purchase commitments.

Supporting project reporting, schedules and action trackers.

Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashflow forecasting and expenditure tracking.

Supporting monthly management reporting, budgeting and financial planning activities.

Providing administrative support for payroll, VAT and other business reporting requirements. Maintaining accurate information within the company's ERP/business management system.

Processing goods receipts, purchasing transactions and inventory movements. Coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments.

Preparing shipping and export documentation where required. Supporting stock control, stock takes and inventory accuracy.

Coordinating the movement of materials between suppliers, customers and company facilities.

Organising travel, accommodation, meetings and occasional company events.

Maintaining company records, documentation and filing systems.

Supporting quality, health & safety and compliance administration.

Identifying opportunities to improve administrative and operational processes.

    Business Administrator - About You

We are looking for an experienced administrator who is comfortable working across several areas of a business and managing multiple priorities.

    You are likely to have:

At least 5 years' experience within business administration, procurement administration, finance administration, project support or a similarly broad operational role.

Previous experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or technology environment.

A good understanding of purchasing and supplier management processes.

    Strong organisational and coordination skills.

Strong Microsoft Office and general IT skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with limited supervision.

    Business Administrator - The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take on a genuinely varied position within an engineering-led organisation, with responsibility spanning procurement, finance, projects, logistics and wider business administration.

The role will suit somebody who enjoys creating structure, keeping operations organised and becoming a trusted point of contact for colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.

If you are an experienced Business Administrator looking for a broad role within an engineering or manufacturing environment, we would be interested in hearing from you. Please do apply now
